December is a month of parties, parties and more parties, and Winter Balls are around the corner. With so many hair styles out there, how do you choose which is right for your special occasion?
Well, you shouldn't make this decision on a whim, or on your own. Book an appointment with your favorite stylist or at your salon, and do some experimenting! You might even take pictures of the different options you come up with. This way, when you return on your big day, there will be no surprises.
Here are some tips for all types of hair:
Curly or Wavy hair:
- Up and Down do - This calls for the hair that is near your face to be up in a loose, natural knot, with the rest cascading down your back.
- Half up - Hair swept off the face with added height and fixed loosely to the back of the head with the rest of your hair falling in soft waves.
- 40's Style - Brushed back off the face and rolled in a crown fashion around the head. Anchor with pins and fresh flowers or with hair accessories.
- Swept Back - A side part with the hair pulled back and held with pins and small curls gathered at the back.
- Waves - Hair parted to one side with large waves hanging loosely.
Short, layered, straight hair:
Brush the front layers to one side and sweep the rest of the hair up for height. Any loose shorter hairs can be pinned back with hair accessories.
Straight or wavy hair:
A loose (loose being the operative word!) French twist with soft tendrils around the face. It will look even better if you have bangs or short layers around your face.
Long hair (any type):
- Sophisticated - Try sweeping all your hair into a high, tight coil, leaving no hair surrounding your face.
- Soft Chignon - A soft twist of all your hair at the neck, with a part on the side and soft tendrils around the face.
- The Pretty Pony - A high ponytail full of soft curls and tendrils around the face.
Curly Hair:
Pull all hair away from the face and up at the crown of your head, with all your hair curling and cascading.
So, with these hints in hand you are sure to get the "do" that suits you best! Enjoy your parties!
